Team News - Golden Rams Up to #17 in AFCA Poll

After West Chester's 35-24 victory at East Stroudsburg on Saturday, the Golden Rams (9-1, 8-1) nudged up to #17 in the most recent coaches' poll. Although previous #17 Sioux Falls also won, they swapped places with the Golden Rams. West Chester remains #12 in the D2football.com poll.

Quarterback Sean McCartney is third in passing touchdowns with 32 and tenth in the country in passing efficiency with a 162.2 rating while the Golden Ram team passing efficiency is now sixth at 162.4. Team total offense is 23rd with 481 yards per game, 29th in passing with 284 yards per game and up to 12th in scoring with 40.8 points per game. The offense is eighth in third down conversions at a rate of 50.4%. After his two touchdowns at East Stroudsburg, tight end Tim Brown is seventh in the country in receiving touchdowns with 12. And after his monster rushing game against the Warriors, running back Brandon Monk is now 22nd in the nation in all-purpose yards with 155.8 per game and 24th in rushing yards per carry at 6.3.

The team defense remains 12th in passing efficiency at 94.5 and after East Stroudsburg two successful conversions, fell to second in fourth down conversions at 18.2%. Team passing defense is 14th with 167.7 yards/game, total defense rose to 26th at 314 yards per game and scoring defense is 19th at 17.7 points per game. Defensive end Andrew Cohen is 33rd in the country in sacks with 0.8 sack per game and cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz is 50th in passes defended with 1.2 per game.

The team is up to 10th in the country in net punting at 37.6 yards per punt.

West Chester visits Indiana on Saturday at 1:00.
