Event News - Bucks County Lions Football Classic

Two future Golden Rams will be participating in the Bob Sands Memorial, Bucks County Lions, All Star Football Classic to be held on June 6 at 7:30 pm at Truman High School. Linebacker Kevin Duggan of Central Bucks West and defensive end John Dubyk of Pennridge are both slated to play for the North squad in the contest.

The event is sponsored by the Bucks County Lions Club with the charitable funds raised by the game going primarily to the Bucks County Association for the Blind and the Lions Camp Kirby for the Hearing Impaired.

Event News - PAC 10 Senior Bowl

Two future Golden Rams will be participating in the 2nd PAC 10 Senior Bowl football game to be held at 3:00 pm on June 2 at Spring-Ford High School. Linebacker Justice Smith of Pope John Paul II and Phoenixville linebacker Ryan Panella will have an opportunity to be teammates prior to coming to West Chester as both will play for the Freedom team.

Event News - Hero Bowl

Several future Golden Rams will be participating in the 37th Annual Delaware County Hero Bowl football game to be held at 7:30 pm on May 30 in Leslie C. Quick Stadium on the campus of Widener University. Expected to participate in the contest are wide receiver Marcus Sydnor of Haverford, defensive back Joe DeMaio of Cardinal O'Hara and quarterback Ryan Corkery of Garnet Valley.

The Hero Bowl serves as Delaware county's senior all-star game with all proceeds going to benefit the Hero Scholarship Fund of Delaware County to provide scholarships to the children of police officers, fire fighters and EMS workers who have given their lives in the line of duty.

Event News - Montgomery County All-Star Classic

Several future Golden Rams will be participating in the 46th Annual Montgomery County All-Star Football Classic to be held on Thursday May 30 at 7:00 pm at Souderton Area High School. Lineman Evyn Stadulis of Upper Moreland will play for the South Squad, while tight end Connor McGrath of Upper Merion and defensive lineman George Shipp of North Penn will play for the North squad.

Proceeds from the Montgomery County All-Star Football Classic go to the Children's Tumor Foundation. Fans are also asked to bring non-perishable food items to benefit the Keystone Opportunity Center.

Event News - Valor Bowl

Two future Golden Rams will be participating in the 15th Annual Valor Bowl to be held at 7:15 pm on Wednesday, May 29 at Conestoga High School. Defensive lineman Ian Nanni of Downingtown West will suit up for the West squad while Bill Ford will play for the East team.

The Valor Bowl was founded by Scott Allison and former West Chester Golden Ram and Killinger Hall of Fame member Joe Carroll, and serves as Chester county's senior all-star game with all proceeds going to benefit the Chester County Special Olympics.

Several current West Chester University football players have participated in the Valor Bowl including 2008 South Offensive MVP Matt Carroll, 2010 East Offensive MVP Rondell White, Brandon Monk, Ian Wood, Chris Scavicchio, Grant Garbutt, Tom Phelan and Kenny Massey. Other notable Valor Bowl alumni include 2001 North Offensive MVP Bob Findora who later led the Golden Rams to the 2004 Division II National semi-final, and 1999 South Offensive MVP and current Houston Texan quarterback Matt Schaub.

Event News - Tri-County All-Star Football Game

A future Golden Ram is scheduled to play in the 12th Annual Tri-County All-Star Football Game to be held on Saturday May 25 at 7:00 pm at Manheim Central High School's Elden Rettew Stadium. Running back Anthony Brown of Conestoga Valley will play for the South squad. The game is sponsored by the Manheim Touchdown Club

Event News - Philadelphia City All-Star Game

Two future Golden Rams will be participating in the 39th Annual City All-Star Game to be held on Saturday May 18 at 7:00 pm at Northeast High School. Defensive back Brandon Spatz of Father Judge and his high school teammate Vince LoStracco will play for the Non-Public Team. This will be LoStracco's second all-star game of the spring as he played in Global Bowl Italy last month.

In this game in 2004, future West Chester star receiver Michael Washington had only two catches, but one was a 35-yard touchdown while the other was a 83-yard touchdown. It was a precursor of his Golden Ram career as the AFCA All-American and Harlon Hill finalist went on to catch 215 passes for a PSAC record 4,715 yards and a PSAC record 58 touchdowns in his four year career.

More recently, in 2010, current Golden Ram Will Huff nailed three field goals, Erick Brundidge had three catches for 48 yards and Pete Hurley had a couple of catches including a touchdown. And in 2008, last season's WCU offensive MVP Mike Mattei went 7 of 9 for 148 yards and three touchdowns in garnering offensive MVP honors for the Non-Public Team.

Event News - Nanni, Elder to PSFCA East/West Game

Two future Golden Rams will participate in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) East/West All-Star Game this afternoon at Downingtown West High School. It was previously reported that Jarel Elder would suit up for the East squad as a defensive back. It is now reported that Ian Nanni will join Elder on the East's defensive team. Kick-off is set for 2:00 pm.
