Player News - Ryan Pannella to Stay in Chester County

Ryan Pannella (Phoenixville) has committed to play football for the Golden Rams according to the Phoenixville Phantoms facebook page. The 6-0, 180lb, two-way player nabbed 23 passes for 419 yards and three touchdowns at tight end and racked up 115 solo tackles (181 total) and two sacks from his inside linebacker position. Pannella was also his team's recipient of the Mini Maxwell Award. The Phantoms qualified for the District I playoffs this past season after reaching the District I championship game in his junior season. As a junior, Pannella had ten catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns on offense and 195 total tackles, of which 112 were solo, on defense.

Player News - Mike Unger Joining the Golden Rams

Mike Unger (Parkland) verbally committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 6-3, 285lb, All-State offensive lineman is the latest resident of the Lehigh Valley to come to West Chester, joining high school teammate Jarel Elder and Allentown Central Catholic's Jeff Gulyas. Unger anchored an offensive line that had three 1,000 yard rushers this past season and over 5,500 yards of total offense. The Trojans won the District XI title and advanced to the PIAA AAAA quarter-finals.

Player News - Drob Joins the Golden Rams

Tyler Drob (Cherry Hill East) has committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 6-3, 280lb, offensive guard and defensive tackle chose West Chester over Sacred Heart and PSAC rival Kutztown. On defense, he registered 35 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 6 tackles for loss for the Cougars. A three-year starter, Drob anchored an offensive line that had 1,500 yard rushers in his junior and senior seasons.

Player News - Anthony Brown Coming to West Chester


Anthony Brown (Conestoga Valley) verbally committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 5-10, 185lb running back rushed for 1,339 yards and 13 touchdowns and caught 11 passes for 108 yards and three touchdowns for the Buckskins this past season. In his junior campaign, he rushed for 1,444 yards, had 12 catches for 122 yards and scored 17 total touchdowns.

Brown scored six touchdowns in CV's 64-6 thrashing of Lebanon this past season. In his junior season, he became just the second player in Lancaster-Lebanon League history to rush for 300 yards in a game, posting 329 yards and three touchdowns against Solanco, for which he was named Athlete of the Week.

His father, Rich, and four uncles also all played football for Conestoga Valley. Brown's one uncle, Mike Brown, went on to play fullback for the Golden Rams in the late 80's.

Player News - Jarel Elder Commits to WCU

Jarel Elder (Parkland) verbally committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 5-7, 160lb, running back/defensive back chose West Chester over PSAC rivals Shippensburg and Bloomsburg. He filled the stat sheet in his senior season for the Trojans, whose season ended in the PIAA AAAA quarter-finals. On offense, Elder rushed for 1,504 yards and 18 touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 240 yards and another two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Elder recorded 96 total tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and four more touchdowns. In claiming the District XI AAAA championship, Elder caught a 55-yard pass for one touchdown, scored a second touchdown on a 51-yard run, and returned an interception 43 yards for a third touchdown. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards in his junior season as Parkland advanced to the PIAA District 2/4/11 subregional final.

Player News - Jeff Gulyas Verbally Commits to West Chester

Jeff Gulyas (Allentown Central Catholic) verbally committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 6-3, 210lb, All-State defensive end chose West Chester over PSAC rivals Shippensburg and Kutztown. In his senior season, he registered 62 tackles, 13.5 sacks and 19 tackles for loss for the Vikings, whose season ended in the PIAA AAA semi-finals. In his junior campaign, he racked up 50 tackles, 9.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries as the Vikings advanced to the PIAA AAA semi-finals that season as well.

Player News - Jabat Wins Track Event

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Jay Jabat won the high jump at the Ursinus College Collegeville Classic. Jabat cleared a height of 6'6" which was four inches better than his closest competitor in the field of 15 jumpers. His effort helped the West Chester Men's Indoor Track team capture second at the event.

Jabat saw action in five games this past season for the Golden Ram football team.

Players News - Williams, White Receive More Honors

Two Golden Ram football players both recently received more honors for their performances in 2012. Running back Rondell White and linebacker Ronell Williams were both named to the D2football.com All-America honorable mention team. Both were also previously named Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-Super Region 1 first team as well. White was named to the Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-American second team while Williams was named to the honorable mention squad.

Team News - 2012 Football Banquet

The Golden Ram Football Club will be sponsoring the 47th annual team banquet to honor the 2012 Golden Rams players, coaches and staff on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 5:30 pm at the Concordville Inn in Concordville, PA.
