Player News - Kolby Sprague Coming to West Chester

It's being reported that Kolby Sprague (New Jersey Warriors/Maple Shade) will continue his academic and football career at West Chester. After playing both football and baseball for the Malpe Shade Wildcats, the 6-1, 185lb wide receiver spent this past season with the New Jersey Warriors.

Player News - Maurice Beverly Commits to West Chester

Maurice Beverly (Imhotep) has tweeted his commitment to play football for the Golden Rams. This past season, the 6-0, 215lb linebacker racked up 87 tackles, including 14 tackles for loss, for the Panthers which captured the Distict XII Class 5A championship. The Tep then proceeded to defeat the champions of District X and District I before falling in overtime in the PIAA Class 5A championship game.

Player News - Chris Thompson Picks the Golden Rams

Chris Thompson (LaSalle) has tweeted his plans to attend West Chester University and play football. The 6-3, 230lb middle linebacker led the Philadelphia Catholic League in tackles as a junior and was one of the top tacklers for the Explorers this past season when they finished 9-2, ultimately falling in the District XII Class 6A championship. Thompson chose West Chester over PSAC foes Kutztown and Seton Hill.

Player News - Alex Checchia Commits to West Chester

Alex Checchia (Council Rock South) has tweeted his plans to attend West Chester University and play football. At 6-5, 240lb, he serves as a big target from the tight end position and was rated as the #7 tight end in the state this past season. Checchia also played defensive end for the Golden Hawks.

Player News - Giovonni Graham Coming to WCU

Giovonni Graham (Imhotep) has tweeted his commitment to play football for West Chester University. At 6-2, 280lb, the massive two-way lineman helped the Panthers capture the Distict XII Class 5A championship. The Tep then proceeded to defeat the champions of District X and District I before falling in overtime in the PIAA Class 5A championship game. Graham chose West Chester over PSAC East rival Millersville.

Player News - Ethan Kohler Coming to West Chester

Ethan Kohler (Perkiomen Valley) has tweeted his commitment to play for the Golden Rams. As a junior, the 6'2 215lb signal caller completed 63% of his passes for 1,451 yards, 16 TD's and just 1 interception. This past season, he was 152 of 225 (67.6%) for 2,392 yards, 28 TD's and 4 interceptions while rushing for 567 yards and 12 scores in leading the Vikings to the second round of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. Kohler is Perkiomen Valley's recipient of the Maxwell Football Club's Mini Max Award which is based on football performance, academics and community service. He chose West Chester over PSAC rivals Kutztown, Slippery Rock and Shippensburg.

Player News - Nick Bozzetto Joins the Golden Rams

Nick Bozzetto (Bonner-Pendergast) has announced his intention to play football for the Golden Rams. At 6'3 290lb, he's been a mainstay on the Friars offensive line for three years. Bozzetto is Bonner-Pendergast's recipient of the Maxwell Football Club's Mini Max Award which is based on football performance, academics and community service. He chose West Chester over Ursinus, Widener and Fanklin and Marshall.

Player News - Darren Miller Becomes a Golden Ram

Darren Miller (North Penn) has issued a verbal commitment to West Chester University. The 6'0, 300lb two-way lineman and team captain helped the Knights finish with a record of 11-1 and advance to the second round of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. Miller selected West Chester over PSAC East rival Shippensburg.

Player News - Zack Gillen Commits to West Chester

Zack Gillen (Wilson) has tweeted his plans to attend West Chester University and play football. The 5-9, 170lb speedy wide receiver finished his high school career with 153 catches for 2,301 yards and scored 27 touchdowns. Gillen did it all for the Warriors this past season. In addition to 54 catches for 771 yards and 7 touchdowns, he made 33 tackles, recovered a fumble, nabbed two interceptions, scored three two-point conversions and returned a punt for a touchdown. Wilson advanced to the District X1 Class 4A semi-finals in 2021.

Robby Longo (Springfield) has issued his intent to continue his education and play football at West Chester University. The 5-11, 165lb receiver hauled in 68 passes for 959 yards and 11 touchdowns this past year to set single season receiving records for the Cougars. Longo is Springfield's recipient of the Maxwell Football Club's Mini Max Award which is based on football performance, academics and community service. He selected West Chester over PSAC east rival Kutztown.

Player News - Cayden Hess Coming to West Chester

Cayden Hess (Jersey Shore) has announced his commitment to play football at West Chester University. The 6-1, 205lb two-way player received all-state honors this past season as both a receiver and a cornerback. In each of the past three seasons, Hess had over 50 catches and 900 yards receiving and the Bulldogs captured the District 4 Class 4A championship, and advanced to the PIAA Class 4A semi-finals. He also plays basketball and baseball for Jersey Shore.

Player News - Levi Carroll Joins the Golden Rams

Levi Carroll (North Penn) has announced his commitment to West Chester University. The 6'4 185lb wide receiver made 44 catches for 840 yards and 12 touchdowns this past season for the Knights which advanced to the second round of the District 1 Class 6A playoffs and finished with a record of 11-1. He also returned had a pair of 80+ yard kickoff returns for scores. Carroll chose West Chester over PSAC East rivals Shippensburg and Bloomsburg.

Player News - Cooper Jordan Picks West Chester

Cooper Jordan (Bishop Shanahan) has issued a verbal commitment to the Golden Rams. This past season, the 5-11, 165lb dual-threat quarterback threw for 2,244 yards and 29 touchdowns while rushing for 1,188 yards and 15 touchdowns, accounting for almost 80% of Eagles' offense. With Jordan at the helm, Bishop Shanahan captured the Chest-Mont title, the District 1 Class 4A championship, and advanced to the PIAA Class 4A semi-finals. Jordan selected West Chester over PSAC East rivals Millersville, Bloomsburg, and Kutztown.

Dayshawn Jacobs (West Chester Rustin) has tweeted his intention to continue his football career with the Golden Rams. The 5-9, 175lb running back set Ches-Mont single season rushing records in both yards (2,741) and touchdowns (42) and picked up an eye-popping 10.0 yards per carry. The Daliy Local News Player of the Year led the Golden Knights to the District 1 Class 5A finals where they fell in double overtime. He selected West Chester over Bloomsburg and Millersville.

Player News - Damir Williams-Bey Issues Verbal to WCU

Damir Williams-Bey (Bonner-Prendergast) has issued a verbal commitment to play football for the Golden Rams. The 5-11, 185lb defensive back has a nose for the ball. Of his four interceptions, one was a touchdown saving pick in their PIAA Class 4A playoff game. Earlier in the season, Williams-Bey recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown. Of his 51 total tackles for the Friars, which won the District XII Class 4A championship, 12 were for a loss. He selected West Chester over PSAC foe Seton Hill and Mountain East school West Virginia Wesleyan.

Player News - Jordan Burney to Play in Dream Bowl Game

West Chester safety Jordan Burney has been selected to play in the 2022 Dream Bowl to be held at Salem Football Stadium in Salem, VA on January 17 at noon. He will suit up for the Crusaders.

Burney played in 38 games over his four seasons as a Golden Ram, starting in 34 of them. Known for being a hard hitter and stopping the run, he amassed 134 total tackles with 78 of them being solo. Burney is also credited with 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

The Dream Bowl is a College Football All-Star Showcase of the best FCS, D-II and D-III players from across the country. The game and the series of events held over Martin Luther King Weekend are a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.

Player News - Dan Neuhaus to Play in Dream Bowl Game

West Chester tight end Dan Neuhaus has been selected to play in the 2022 Dream Bowl to be held at Salem Football Stadium in Salem, VA on January 17 at noon. He will suit up for the Crusaders.

Neuhaus played in 42 games over his four seasons as a Golden Ram. He made a total of 86 catches for 1,626 yards and 20 touchdowns. A team captain this past season, he always excelled as the season progressed. Over the final four games this past season, Neuhaus made 16 catches for 385 yards and three touchdowns. In the 2019 regular season finale against California, he had four catches for 60 yards and scored both of West Chester's touchdown to clinch a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs. In the first-round loss at Notre Dame College the following week, he hauled in four passes for 107 yards and a score. Over the final four games of his freshman year, he made 12 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dream Bowl is a College Football All-Star Showcase of the best FCS, D-II and D-III players from across the country. The game and the series of events held over Martin Luther King Weekend are a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.

Player News - Another Accolade for Jackson Taylor

Sophomore linebacker Jackson Taylor has been named to D2Football.com Elite 100 for 2021. He was one of only two sophomores recognized at the linebacker position.

Taylor was named first team All-PSAC East, PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year, All-Super Region 1 by the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association and a Cliff Harris Award nominee. He finished the season with 97 total tackles (7th in the PSAC) including 11.5 tackles for loss (12th in the PSAC). He also had interceptions at Shippensburg and Lock Haven and recovered a fumble at Shippensburg as well.
