Player News - Preseason Honors for Host of Rams

Six members of the Golden Ram football team have been named preseason All-American by USA Football Network. Representing West Chester are senior co-captain Rondell White who was named to the first team at running back and senior co-captain Anthony McCloskey who was named to the second team at defensive line. Senior co-captain and offensive guard Trey Farmer, senior co-captain and safety Shawn Krautzel , junior linebacker Ronell Williams, and junior punter Rich Bruno all appear on the honorable mention list.

Player News - White Garners Another Preseason Honor

Senior co-captain Rondell White has captured another preseason honor as he has been named to the Beyond Sports Network Preseason All America Team first team as an athlete. Last season, White had 1,548 yards rushing, 624 receiving and 30 return yards to finish first in all of NCAA Division II in all-purpose yards with 200 yards per game. For all of those accomplishments, he was named first team All-PSAC East, 2012 Daktronics Division II All-Super Region 1 second team, Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All Super Region 1, Beyond Sports Network Division II All-American second team, Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-America second team and D2Football.com All-American honorable mention.

Player News - Bruno Nominated for Award

Golden Ram punter Rich Bruno is among the nominees for the 2013 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. Last season, Bruno (Jr., Council Rock South) averaged 36.6 (35.9 net) yards per punt and was named second team All PSAC East. The Good Works Team is college football's top community service award and recognizes college football players who dedicate themselves to others and service to their communities. There are two eleven-man teams named - one for the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and one for all other levels of football.

Event News - 23rd Annual Quarterback Classic

The 23rd Annual WCU Quarterback Classic will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester, PA. Presented by National Food Sales, the schedule is as follows:

- 10:30 am Registration
- 11:30 am Box Lunch
- 12:00 pm Shotgun Start
- 5:00 pm Cocktail Hour / Silent Auction
- 6:00 pm Dinner / Awards

The price for an individual golfer is $150 with all proceeds from the event going directly into the football scholarship fund. Anyone interested in attending or sponsoring the event is asked to use the online registration center no later than July 22.

Alumni News - Benefit for Brian McDermott

There will be a fundraising benefit for former Golden Ram football captain and fullback Brian McDermott on Sunday, July 21 at The Great American Pub in Conshohocken. McDermott, recipient of the 2012 Coaches' Award at the Golden Ram Football Club's team banquet, was injured in an automobile accident in late May.

Player News - Lindy's Names White Pre-season All-Div II

Rondell White has been named to Lindy's 2013 All-Division II Team. The senior co-captain running back from nearby Rustin High School is coming off a record breaking season when he rushed for 1,548 yards. For that performance he was named Golden Ram Football Club Player of the Year and WCU Football Athlete of the Year. Last year White was also named first team All-PSAC East, 2012 Daktronics Division II All-Super Region 1 second team, Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All Super Region 1, Beyond Sports Network Division II All-American second team, Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-America second team and D2Football.com All-American honorable mention.

Lindy's also gave the first glimpse of how challenging the Golden Rams' schedule is this season. Opening week, non-conference opponent New Haven is ranked #11 while PSAC East rivals Shippensburg and Bloomsburg are #5 and #10 respectively.
