Player News - Zach Liggitt Picks West Chester

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that Zach Liggitt (Northampton) has chosen to play football for West Chester University. The 6-5 240lb tight end hauled in 10 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns for the Konkrete Kids this past season. On the defensive line, he registered 22 tackles including 6.5 tackles for loss this past season and 27 tackles including five tackles for loss as a junior. Liggitt also throws discus for the Northampton track and field team.

Alumni News - Joe Wright Becomes Head Coach at St Mark's

Former Golden Ram quarterback Joe Wright has been named the head coach at his high school alma mater St. Mark's in Wilmington, DE. As a player at St. Mark's, he was the Gatorade Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and two-time All-State quarterback for the Spartans. At West Chester, the team captain finished his passing career 402 of 696 for 6,220 yards and 49 touchdowns, ranking in the top ten in the Golden Ram record book in each of those marks. He was named second team All-PSAC East after the 2008 season. He was named PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 385 yards and six touchdowns at Kutztown in 2008.

Since graduating from West Chester University in 2009 with his degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Wright has been a high school quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, first at Avon Grove in West Grove, PA and most recently at St. Elizabeth’s in Wilmington, DE. He is also the Director of Football Operations at One Hundred Percent Football in Wilmington, DE.

Player News - J.T. Aloisio Commits to West Chester

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that J.T. Aloisio (West Chester Rustin) is coming to West Chester University. The 6-0 214lb linebacker helped the Golden Knights to the second round of the PIAA District One Class playoffs.

Player News - Fulani Freeman Signs with West Chester

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that Fulani Freeman (Simon Gratz/Valley Forge Military Academy) is transferring to West Chester. At 6-5, 215lbs, Freeman was a good tight end and basketball player in high school, but projects to be an outside pass rusher for the Golden Rams.

Player News - Carrington Hooks a Golden Ram

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that Carrington Hooks (Haverford) is going to play football for the Golden Rams. The 6-4 178lb wide receiver hauled in 24 catches for 391 yards and five touchdowns for the Fords this past season.

Player News - Tyrone Barge Switches to WCU

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that Tyrone Barge (Imhotep/Rhode Island) will transfer to West Chester. After leading the Imhotep Panthers to the state championship game in 2013, the 6-0 286lb defensive lineman committed to Rhode Island. He redshirted there in 2015, played in all 11 games in 2016 and seven games in 2017. In his career at Rhode Island, Barge accounted for 16 total tackles including 5.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Player News - Dom Carey Transfers to WCU

Head coach Bill Zwaan has announced that Dom Carey (Father Judge/Marist) is transferring to West Chester. The 6-3 265lb defensive lineman excelled on both sides of the ball in high school and attended Marist last year. Carey registered three total tackles in eight games for the Red Foxes.

Player News - Julian Trammell Commits to WCU

Julian Trammell (Caesar Rodney) has tweeted a commitment to joins the Golden Rams. The 6-0 160lb cornerback also played running back for the Riders that finished 6-4 with a trip to the DIAA Division I playoffs.

Player News - Sterlen Barr Issues Verbal Commitment

Sterlen Barr (Upper Moreland) will continue to wear purple and gold as he has tweeted his plans to be a Golden Ram. The 5-9 170lb running back also excelled in the defensive secondary for the Bears. On offense, he ran for 1,641 yards and 20 touchdowns in leading the Bears to the second round of the PIAA District 1 Class 5A playoffs. Barr selected West Chester over many other schools including PSAC rivals East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and Kutztown.

Player News - Terrence Williams Issues WCU Tweet

Terrence Williams (Neumann Goretti) has tweeted his plans to attend West Chester University. The 6-2 300lb two-way lineman paced the Saints to an 11-1 record and the quarterfinals of the PIAA Class 2A championship. Williams will also play for the Non-Public Team in the Philadelphia City All-Star Foot​ball Game.
