Player News - Malik Johnson Introduced as latest Golden Ram

Malik Johnson (Academy Park) has been introduced as the latest Golden Ram. Although only 5'9, 175lb, he was a key cog on both sides of the ball as the Knights advanced to the District 1 Class 5A championship game. In that contest, Johnson caught a touchdown pass to draw Academy Park to one point with 16 seconds left, but the team's two-point conversion failed.

Player News - Dai-Jahn Dukes Staying in Purple and Gold

Dai-Jahn Dukes (Upper Moreland) is joining the Golden Rams. The four-year starter for the Bears, he played offensive line, tight end and running back on offense and linebacker on defense. The 6-0, 195lb team captain projects to be a safety at West Chester. Upper Moreland advanced to the District 1 Class 4A championship game this past season.

Player News - Elizjah Lewis is Member of Recruiting Class

Elizjah Lewis (Hodgson Vo-Tech) was listed among the members of West Chester's latest recruiting class. The 6-1, 190lb receiver nabbed a touchdown pass in the Delaware Division I state championship game which capped an undefeated season for the Silver Eagles. While Lewis only had 32 catches on the season, they totaled over 900 yards and almost one-third of them resulted in touchdowns.

Player News - Chasen Wint Introduced as latest Golden Ram

Chasen Wint (Haverford) has been introduced as the latest Golden Ram. The 6'0, 200lb team captain played both running back and defensive line for the Fords. Despite being the 12 seed, Haverford advanced to the District 1 Class 6A semi-finals, upsetting both Spring-Ford and Downingtown East along the way.

Player News - Terrence Gainer Joins the Golden Rams

Terrence Gainer (Downingtown West) has stated that he's coming to West Chester to continue his academic and athletic careers. The 5'10, 165lb defensive back played a key role in the Whippets advancing to the PIAA Class 6A semi-finals this past season. A member of the PIAA Class 3A third place 4x100 meter relay team last spring, the speedster selected West Chester over King's.



Player News - Marcus Gainer Remains in Chester County

Marcus Gainer (Downingtown West) has communicated that he's continuing his academic and athletic careers at West Chester University. The 5'11, 165lb defensive back played a key role in the Whippets advancing to the PIAA Class 6A semi-finals this past season. Also a sprinter for the Downingtown West track team, Gainer selected West Chester over King's.

Player News - Desman Johnson Jr Coming to West Chester

Desman Johnson Jr (Penn Wood) has been introduced as one of the newest Golden Rams. The 6-2, 250lb quarterback threw for over 7,500 yards and accounted for over 100 touchdowns in his high school career. He led Penn Wood to three Del Val titles and two District 1 Class 5A playoff appearances. Johnson selected West Chester over Alvernia.

Player News - Oscar Uduma Becomes a Golden Ram

Oscar Uduma (Bonner-Prendergast) has tweeted commitment to West Chester University. At 6-1, 200lb, he played on the defensive line in high school, but projects to be a linebacker for the Golden Rams. The edge rusher led the Friars into the PIAA Class 4A playoffs this past season. His defensive prowess extends itself to the basketball court for the Friars as well.

Player News - Ben Marsico Commits to Golden Rams

Ben Marsico (Bishop McDevitt) has tweeted his intention to continue his football career with the Golden Rams. The 6-2, 185lb safety also played wide receiver for the Crusaders who advanced to the District 3 Class 4A semi-finals. Over his final two seasons, Marsico notched over 90 tackles and snared 10 interceptions including a pick-six in this past year's playoffs. He also plays basketball for the playoff bound Crusaders. He selected West Chester over Fairmont State, Seton Hill and Millersville.

Alumni News - Sharp Eyes CFL

Golden Ram alumnus Matt Sharp recently participated in the Canadian Football League's combine in the United Kingdom. Now on the defensive side of the ball, the 6'6" Sharp played tight end in five games over his two seasons with the Golden Rams, snagging a nine-yard touchdown pass against Cheyney in his final season.

Player News - Bill Martelon Remains in Purple and Gold

Bill Martelon (Roman Catholic) has announced that he's continuing his academic and athletic careers at West Chester University. Although he played on both sides of the ball for the Cahillites, at 6-4, 280lb, he's expected to be on offense for the Golden Rams. He also has experience at long snapper. The team captain had also received interest from FCS schools Marist and LIU Post.



Player News - Junior Duffault Tweets WCU Commitment

Junior Duffault (Muhlenberg) has issued his intention to continue his academic and athletic careers at West Chester University. The 6-1, 200lb wide receiver was one of the few bright spots for the Muhls which suffered an 0-10 season. Away from football, he participates on the Muhlenberg track and field team and excels at the high jump. Duffault chose West Chester over PSAC East rivals East Stroudsburg and Millersville.

Player News - Marc Macione Tweets Commitment

Marc Macione (Abington) has issued a verbal commitment to the Golden Rams. At 6-0, 230lb, the team captain played both linebacker and tight end for the Galloping Ghosts who qualified for the PIAA District One Class 6A playoffs. Macione was the recipient of the Mini Max Award for Abington which is based on academics, community service as well as football performance.

Player News - Trey Wells Becomes a Golden Ram

Trey Wells (Lancaster Catholic) has tweeted his commitment to WCU football. The 6-6, 270lb two-way lineman paced the Crusaders to the PIAA District 3 Class 3A semi-finals and a 10-2 record. Among his accolades, Wells was named the Lancaster-Lebanon League Section Three's Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Aiden Gair (Loyalsock) has issued a verbal commitment to the Golden Rams. The 6-3, 210lb linebacker tallied over 100 tackles in his senior season for the Lancers who qualified for the PIAA Class 3A playoffs. He's also a prolific scorer for the currently undefeated Loyalsock basketball team. Gair selected West Chester over PSAC East rival Kutztown.

Charley Mininger (Archbishop Wood) has tweeted a plans to continue his academic and athletic careers at West Chester University. The 6-3, 240lb two-way lineman and team captain was a key member of the Vikings Class 5A state champions that held its four playoff opponents to 14 points per game. Also an accomplished wrestler for Wood, he didn't participate in football or wrestling as a junior due to a knee injury. Mininger selected West Chester over PSAC East rivals Kutztown and Millersville.

Player News - Sean Henry Commits to Golden Rams

Sean Henry (Exeter) has tweeted his intention to continue his football and academic careers at West Chester University. The 6-1, 200lb kicker was a dependable scorer for the Eagle team that advanced to the PIAA District III Class 5A semi-finals and finish with a 9-4 record. After missing four games early in the season due to a strained groin, he finished his senior year 38 of 39 on PAT's and perfect on nine field goal attempts with a long of 38 yards. In Exeter's second-round playoff victory at previously undefeated Shippensburg, Henry was perfect on three field goal attempts and one PAT to account for ten of his team's 16 points.
