Last Meeting:

09/14/2012 West Chester 56 - Millersville 14

The Golden Rams amassed 655 total yards with quarterback Mike Mattei throwing for 358 yards and Rondell White churning out 131 yards on the ground. West Chester had a 35-7 halftime lead. The only second half score for the Marauders came on the opening kickoff of the third quarter which was returned by David Coates for a 97-yard touchdown.

Scouting the Opponent:
Millersville's best player is R-Jr. running back David Coates who was All-PSAC as a return specialist last season. Through two games this year, Coates is averaging almost 21 yards per kick return which is an area of concern for the Golden Rams. Offensively, quarterback Connor Casey (37-62, 343 yards, 2 TD's, 3 interceptions) will look to wide receivers Dante Barkley (9 catches, 90 yards) and Brent Collins (18 catches, 185 yards, 1 touchdown). Ian Sadon (40 rushes, 166 yards, 1 TD) is the Marauder's leading rusher.

Defensively, the Marauders are led by linebackers Reggie Slaton (14 tackles, 1 sack) and Jordan Rigby (13 tackles, 2 pass breakups). Also watch for Andrew Wolfgang (11 tackles) who rotates between outside linebacker and strong safety. Overall, Millersville is a young squad as nine players made their first collegiate starts this season.

Analysis:
Millersville ranks 15th in the PSAC in scoring defense, while West Chester ranks 7th in the nation in scoring offense. While the Marauders are stronger against the pass than against the run, both Sean McCartney and White should be able to find plenty of success. This game should also be a chance for the Golden Ram pass defense to get themselves right before facing more accomplished passing teams over the next three weeks - Kutztown, California, and East Stroudsburg. West Chester also needs to shut down Coates and the Marauder kick return team.

Notes:
It's free Turkey Hill ice cream and iced tea to all fans in attendance.
