Alumni News - Shabazz Plays Preseason Finale

In the Steelers final preseason game, a 18-6 loss to the Carolina Panthers, former Golden Ram Al-Hajj Shabazz recorded three total tackles. His first tackle came on the opening kickoff when he teamed up with Steven Johnson to take down Cameron Artis-Payne at the Carolina 24-yard line.

In the third quarter, he had a solo stop after a short pass for one yard on a third-and-11, forcing a Carolina punt which failed. Finally, early in the fourth quarter, he teamed up with Johnson again to stop a third-down pass short of the marker forcing a Carolina 45-yard field goal.

Shabazz now waits to learn his NFL fate which will be made known no later than 4:00 pm on September 3.
