Team News - Golden Rams Tumble to #20 in AFCA Poll

After West Chester's 41-10 thumping in Bloomsburg on Saturday, the Golden Rams (7-1, 6-1) fell to #20 in the most recent coaches' poll. Four of the top 15 teams in last week's poll lost this past weekend, all to other ranked opponents. West Chester dropped to #15 in the D2football.com poll.

Quarterback Sean McCartney is now tenth in the country in passing efficiency with a 160.2 rating and the Golden Ram team passing efficiency is fifth at 161.77. Team total offense is 19th with 485 yards per game, 15th in passing with 313 yards per game and 18th in scoring with 39.4 points per game. The offense is ninth in third down conversions at a rate of 50%.

The team defense is 15th in passing efficiency at 97.1 and first in fourth down conversions at 11.1%. Defensive end Andrew Cohen is 19th in the country in sacks with 1.0 sack per game and cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz is 30th in passes defended with 1.4 per game.

The team is up to 14th in the country in net punting at 37.6 yards per punt, but just like last season, punter Rich Bruno is not listed among the individual leaders as he is just one punt shy of consideration.

West Chester hosts winless Cheyney on Saturday at noon.
