Alumni News - DePalma Makes Professional Debut

It's been over three seasons and four teams in three cities, but former Golden Ram wide receiver Dan DePalma has now logged his first professional regular season catch. After spending time on the practice squads of the New York Jets, New York Giants and San Diego Chargers of the NFL and the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, DePalma saw his first regular season action last night in the Riders' 37-9 win over the Toronto Argonauts. Late in the second quarter, DePalma notched a 56-yard catch and run to the Argonaut two-yard line which led to a touchdown and a 28-6 halftime lead for the Riders.

DePalma was just activated from the Riders' practice squad on Thursday to take the place of Ryan Smith who injured his finger in Thursday's practice and was placed on the one-game injured list. Although DePalma was listed on the depth chart as the team's primary return man, Marshay Green performed those duties in the game. The Riders' are scheduled to play next Saturday at 7:00 pm in Ottawa.
