Player News - Kevin Leyden Commits to West Chester

Kevin Leyden (Haverford) has announced his intentions to play football for the Golden Rams. The 6-1, 185lb running back/all-purpose back initially indicated that he would play lacrosse at Penn State, but has since announced that he will play football at West Chester. Leyden was #56 on the Philadelphia Inquirer's Rally 100 list and on Rick O'Brien's running backs to watch list.

In his junior year, Leyden rushed for 1,162 yards and ten touchdowns while catching 26 passes for an additional 386 yards and seven touchdowns. He was also a threat on kick and punt returns for a team that advanced to the PIAA District 1 AAAA playoffs despite suffering a separated shoulder late in the season. This past season, he had 653 yards and nine touchdowns in seven games before having his season cut short by a torn ACL. Despite the abbreviated season, he was still named his team's offensive MVP for the season.
