Team News - Golden Rams up to #15 in AFCA

After West Chester's win 34-20 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday, the Golden Rams (6-0) rose two spots to #15 in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II poll. While there were only three losers among the top 15 (Valdosta St, West Texas A&M, and Indiana), West Chester still managed to move ahead of #16 Winston-Salem State which had a 44-17 win this past weekend. West Chester inched up one position to #18 in the D2football.com poll.

The Golden Rams rose to second in the nation in net punting and the offense rose to 17th in the country in total offense with 509 yards per game. West Chester is sixth in kickoff returns with a 28.3 yard average. Although allowing two sacks on Saturday, West Chester is still third in the nation in fewest sacks allowed with 0.5 per game. The Golden Ram rushing defense now stands at fifth in the country yielding less than 75 yards per game, and seventh in pass sacks with 3.67 per game.

Senior captain Rondell White is second in the nation in all-purpose yards with 238 yards per game, seventh in the country in rushing with 157 yards per game and fifth in the nation in scoring with 12 points per game. Junior quarterback Sean McCartney slipped to 11th in the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 166.6.

The Golden Rams travel to Lock Haven this Saturday for a noon kickoff. Lock Haven will be celebrating their homecoming.
