Player News - Eerin Young to WCU

According to Ted Silary, Eerin Young (Imhotep/Rhode Island) has transferred from Rhode Island and will play football for the Golden Rams. As a true freshman at Rhode Island in 2013, the 5-10, 180lb multi-purpose player had 71 carries for 224 yards and four catches for 35 yards. Young also returned eight kickoffs for 145 yards. Although he was named the most improved offensive player in the spring of 2014, he was not on the Rhode Island roster last fall.


In his senior season at Imhotep, Young rushed 114 times for 1,054 yards and 14 touchdowns and made 25 catches for 467 yards and five touchdowns. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns for the Philadelphia AA Champion Panthers that finished 14-1. He was the team's leading rusher as a junior with 133 carries for 1,059 yards and 13 touchdowns while also hauling in eight catches for 63 yards. As a sophomore, he had 78 carries for 467 yards and three scores. After his senior season, he played in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) East/West All-Star Game.
