Since former Golden Ram wide receiver
Dan DePalma made his
professional debut for the
Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, he subsequently found himself on the team's injured list. Fast forward to this past weekend, and Rider receivers
Taj Smith and
Chaz Schillens were both placed on the 6-game injured list and DePalma was moved to that active roster. DePalma stepped in and scored his first professional touchdown on a
66-yard catch and run. The Riders ultimately fell to the first place
Calgary Stampeders by a score of 31-24, but DePalma's touchdown broke a Rider scoreless streak of over 87 minutes. With Smith and Schillens on the 6-game injured list, DePalma can expect playing time over the last four games of the regular season and possible postseason. The Riders' next action is Monday, October 13th at 1:00 pm in Montreal.
Meanwhile, the news isn't as good for former Golden Ram linebacker
Sam Scott. Scott was activated from the
Hamilton Tiger-Cats' injured list and started the first four games in the month of September, accounting for seven tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. But he has since returned to Ticats' 1-game injured list. Hamilton has not lost a game since the middle of August.
