Player News - Trey Wells to Play in Tropical Bowl Game

West Chester right tackle Trey Wells has been selected to play in the 2025 Trillion Tropical Bowl Game to be held at Larry Kelly Field at Municipal Stadium in Daytona, FL at 11:00am on January 19. Wells will suit up for the National Team which will be coached by Jim Collins.

In his four year Golden Ram career, Wells played in 35 games making 19 starts. Starting every game this past season, he was a member of an offensive line that led to the second best rushing attack in the PSAC averaging 167 yards/game.

The SPIRAL Tropical Bowl is a premier FBS Division I level College Football All Star Game that showcases the top college football seniors to NFL scouts and general managers.

Player News - Jonathan Haynes to Play in Dream Bowl XIII

West Chester receiver Jonathan Haynes has been selected to play in the 2025 Dream Bowl to be held at Lobo Stadium in Little Elm, TX on Sunday, January 19 at noon CST. He will suit up for the Crusaders.

As a freshman at Millersville in 2019, Haynes caught 13 passes for 144 yards and two scores. He spent 2020 and 2021 with Middle Tennessee State seeing action in two games. This past season for the Golden Rams, Haynes made five catches for 83 yards.

The Dream Bowl is a College Football All-Star Showcase featuring players of all levels of college football from across the country. The game and the series of events held over Martin Luther King Weekend are a celebration of the excellence, commitment, and sacrifice made by the players and their families.

Team News - Bill Zwaan to Delaware County Hall of Fame

Former Golden Ram head coach Bill Zwaan will be inducted into the Delaware County Athletes Hall of Fame. Zwaan played quarterback at the University of Delaware where he guided the Blue Hens to the NCAA Division II national championship game in 1974. Zwaan was the head baseball coach of nearby Widener University from 1993-96 and head football coach there from 1997-2002.

He became the head coach of the Golden Rams in 2003, a position that he held until he retired after the 2023 season. He left as the school's winningest coach with a record of 163-76. In his 20 seasons at the helm, he captured the PSAC East championship outright six times (2004, 2007, 2008, 2015, 2017, 2018) and the shared title in 2013. Additionally, in 2018, West Chester captured the overall PSAC championship for the first time since 1971. Zwaan led the Golden Rams into the NCAA Division II playoffs ten times, advancing to the national semifinals in both 2004 and 2013. He was also named PSAC East Coach of the Year five times (2004, 2007, 2008, 2015, 2018).

Player News - Mosley, Fry Earn Academic Honors

Redshirt senior safety Shane Mosley and sophomore defensive lineman Jack Fry have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Teams for Division II.

Mosley, who is a CSC Academic All-America finalist, finished this past season with 79 total tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss. The PSAC East first-team honoree had seven pass breakups and two interceptions, including a 68-yard pick-six in his final home game against Lock Haven. Fry finished the season with 60 total tackles including 4.5 tackles for loss. He registered the first solo sack of his career in the upset win over Shepherd.
