For his efforts in West Chester's 56-10 win at Mercyhurst, sophomore defensive end Michael Gobora has been named PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week.
On Mercyhurst's first possession, he had a solo tackle for a 4-yard loss and a solo tackle for a 3-yard loss on third down to force a punt. He teamed up with Jordan Burney on an 8-yard sack and later had a 4-yard solo sack.
In the third quarter, he teamed up with Omar Peterkin on a 5-yard loss. He later had a solo strip sack for a 4-yard loss. Late in the third quarter, as part of West Chester sacking the Mercyhurst quarterback on three consecutive plays, he teamed up with Wyatt Smith on a 7-yard loss. For the game, he had eight total tackles, including 5.0 tackles for loss for 20 yards, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble.
