The field replacement project in John A. Farrell Stadium has begun.
The rendering of the new field shows that the end zones will be purple with "WCU" in gold script in one end zone and "Golden Rams" in gold block letters in the other end zone. The end zones of the previous field were both the same: green background with "West Chester University" in purple trimmed in gold. The ram's head athletic logo in the middle of the field will be slightly larger since the words "West Chester University" and "Golden Rams" that surrounded the logo on the previous field have been removed.
The previous FieldTurf was installed in the summer of 2006.
West Chester's first official game on the new field will be September 10 when the Golden Rams host Slippery Rock on Hall of Fame Day.
