Player News - Julian Kelly Joins the Golden Rams

The Golden Rams have apparently added running back Julian Kelly (Ventura/Sun Valley) to the team.

Kelly (5-11, 183lb) captured offensive MVP honors for the East squad in the 2019 Delaware County Hero Bowl after rushing for 65 yards and snaring four catches for 82 yards including a pair of touchdowns. Last season, he amassed 696 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns in 11 games for Ventura College which advanced to the Southern California Football Association semifinals.

Team News - 23 Golden Rams Named PSAC Scholar-Athletes

Twenty-three players that were on the Golden Ram football roster last season have been named PSAC Scholar-Athletes for the 2021-2022 academic year. In order to qualify for the honor, athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better. There were 4,144 athletes from all 18 PSAC institutions of which 314 represented West Chester University.

Representing the football team are: * Student-athletes who were also recognized as a PSAC Scholar-Athlete for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Player News - More Preseason Honors for Jackson Taylor

Junior linebacker and team captain Jackson Taylor has been named second team preseason Division II All-American by CFBNETWORK. After last season, Taylor was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year, first team All-PSAC East, second team All-D2CCA Super Region 1, D2football.com Elite 100 and honorable mention All-America by Don Hansen Football Gazette.

Player News - Golden Rams Add Two Transfers

The Golden Rams added two transfers with defensive lineman Ayyub Dail (IUP/Easton) and defensive back Kaleb Brown (Penn State/Wilson).

Dail (6-0, 280lb) tallied 11 tackles as a redshirt freshman in 2019 and 9 tackles in 7 games this past season. After his senior season in 2017 at Easton, he was named first-team All-Area Morning Call as an offensive lineman. Golden Ram fans might remember Dail registering a sack on West Chester's opening drive in last year's season-ending loss to the Crimson Hawks.

Meanwhile, Brown (5-11, 188lb) was named Penn State's Scout Team Special Teams Player of the Year after his only season in State College. At Wilson, Brown played quarterback for the Bulldogs, leading them to 16-3 record over his final two seasons including a Lancaster-Lebanon League championship in 2020. In a shortened senior season, he threw for 567 yards and five touchdowns while running for 746 yards and seven touchdowns in posting a 6-1 record. As a full-time defenisve back as a sophomore, he nabbed five interceptions and made 28 tackles. In track and field, Brown won the Berks County long jump in 2021.

Player News - Jackson Taylor Receives Preseason Honors

After last season, Taylor was named PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year, first team All-PSAC East, second team All-D2CCA Super Region 1, D2football.com Elite 100 and honorable mention All-America by Don Hansen Football Gazette.

The Golden Rams do not appear in Lindy's preseason top 25, but one of this season's scheduled opponents does: Shepherd at #6. Two PSAC West teams appear in the top 25 with California at #17 and and Indiana at #21.

Event News - Future Golden Rams Participate in 2022 Hero Bowl

Three future Golden Rams participated in the Delaware County Hero Bowl at Cardinal O'Hara High School. Team Red/West, which was coached by West Chester University alumnus Tom Ryan, topped Team Blue/East by a score of 16-12.

Future Golden Rams that participated in the game included kicker Zach Liberatore, offensive lineman Nick Bozzetto, and defensive back Damir Williams-Bey.

Event News - Future Golden Rams Participate in 2022 Big33 Game

Three future Golden Rams participated in the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) Big33 Football Classic in Harrisburg. Pennsylvania topped Maryland by a score of 28-7. Representing Pennsylvania were future Golden Rams Ethan Kohler, Maurice Beverly, and Giovanni Graham. Kohler was 5 of 8 passing for 67 yards and had a nine-yard touchdown run, while Beverly had two tackles and a pass breakup.

Event News - 2022 McDonald's Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic

A pair of future Golden Rams will be participating in the 2022 McDonald's Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Classic to be held at 7:30 pm on June 16 in Nazareth's Andrew Leh Stadium. Wide receiver Zack Gillen of Wilson High School and Marcus Williams of Easton High School will both suit up for the Gold squad.

Several Golden Rams have particiapted in this contest including current team captain and defensive end Zach Liggitt, former offensive lineman Pat Ferry, and former running back Eddie Elliott.

Proceeds from the event benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region.

Event News - 2022 DFRC Blue-Gold All★Star Football Game

A future Golden Ram will be participating in the 66th Annual DFRC Blue-Gold All★Star Football Game to be held at 7:00 pm on June 17 at University of Delaware Stadium. Lineman Jake Phipps of Appoquinimink is slated to play for the Gold squad in the contest. Proceeds from the event benefit Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with Intellectual Disabilities.

Other Golden Rams who have participated in this contest include Pat Methlie, Julian Trammell, Devan Labau, and Mike Catalano.
