- With captain Derek Schatz out for the spring, R-Fr. Devan LaBau got the bulk of the snaps at center.
- R-Fr Michael Unger saw the most time at left tackle.
- On one play, R-Fr. Jarel Elder zipped by All-American linebacker Ronell Williams and Andrew Derr lofted a touchdown pass to the wide open running back.
- Quarterback Drew Loughery was in shorts and only participated as a holder on kick attempts.
- Defensive back Pete Galiano had a crushing hit on Eddie Elliott on a completed pass in the flat.
- Ryan Boyd had a good catch in traffic from Pat Moriarty.
- With Tim Brown out for the spring, Bill Ford catching for the baseball team and Shawn Driggins a known entity, Connor McGrath is getting a lot of opportunities at tight end.
- Jeremy Irving appears to be the leading contender for the rover position vacated by Shawn Krautzel.
The next scrimmage is tentatively scheduled for this coming Saturday at 10:00 am on South Campus.

Isn't Drew Formica still on the team? He started last year.

How are the rb's looking?
It's hard to judge the performance of all the running backs from one two-hour scrimmage, especially since their success is often directly related to the offensive line which is going through a transition. Suffice it to say that, unlike the last two seasons, it's unlikely that one guy will handle 40% of the touches in the fall.
I attended this weeks scrimmage 4/19/14 and boy do they have a stable of backs I would like to see each of those guys get some carries every game the main reason is because they all wont wear there legs down that fast and that way you can keep each of there backs healthy now I'm not saying that each should get equal carries but the rb position is brutal position they take alot of pounding there are teams that split carries between 4 backs its possible
