After West Chester reached the the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs, the Golden Rams (11-2) finished ranked #15 in the final American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II poll of the year. Coming off last year's 13-2 record and Super Region 1 championship, West Chester was ranked #10 in the preseason. After starting the season 7-0, West Chester rose to #7 in the AFCA poll, before the loss to Bloomsburg dropped them down to #20. The Golden Rams finished the regular season #15. In the playoffs, they defeated Slippery Rock 46-20 before falling to eventual Super Region 1 Champion Concord by a score of 51-36.
