Alumni News - DePalma Pursuing NFL Again

After the Canadian Football League season ends, it's not unusual for those players to pursue opportunities in the National Football League. And so goes the hopes of former Golden Ram wide receiver Dan DePalma. DePalma played in three games this season for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Riders organization confirmed that he is the only Rider to have a confirmed workout with an NFL team. Assistant general manager Jeremy O’Day sounded rather disturbed that the NFL values DePalma more than their Canadian players, but perhaps it's just that the Riders undervalue him.

DePalma has previously spent time, either in camp or on the practice roster, with the New York Giants, New York Jets and San Diego Chargers. This past season for the Riders, he made six catches for 161 yards - a 26.8 yards per catch average - and one touchdown. It has been reported that he has now worked out for the Indianapolis Colts.
