Team News - 2025 WCU Football Schedule
Here are some comment's on this season's schedule:
For the ninth consecutive football season, West Chester will open against Northeast-10 opponent Bentley. After last season's 20-17 setback, the purple and gold are 6-2 all time against the Falcons.
The Golden Rams will open 2025 with two long road trips: to Waltham, MA to face Bentley and then across the state to take on California(PA). This is an "odd year" phenomenon as in 2023 West Chester opened at Bentley and Slippery Rock and in 2021 started at Bentley and Mercyhurst.
The Golden Rams will face three teams that qualified for the Division II playoffs last season: East Stroudsburg, PSAC champion Kutztown, and California which advanced to the national quarterfinals.
After Mercyhurst announced its departure from the PSAC and Division II in April of 2024, West Chester was left with just a ten-game schedule last season. The Golden Rams had expected to play the Lakers on the last week of the regular season, which also serves as the PSAC championship game for the best team in each division, making it difficult to fill the void. Fortunately for this season, West Chester has scheduled a provisional game against Northeast-10 school Assumption. If West Chester should win the PSAC East, they will host the PSAC West winner on November 15. Otherwise, the Golden Rams will close the regular season by facing the Greyhounds for the first time ever. Assumption last made the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2022 and advanced to the quarterfinals in 2017. The Greyhounds play Kutztown annually and fans have a chance to preview both teams when they square off in Kutztown on September 4.
