Alumni News - Rondell White leads Dauphins to Sole Possession of First Place

In the biggest game of the season for the Nice Dauphins, former Golden Ram running back Rondell White once again led the way. White had 21 carries for 220 yards and two touchdowns and three receptions for 36 yards including the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes left in the game. As a result of the 31-28 win over the previously undefeated Cougars de Saint-Ouen l'AumĂ´ne, Nice now claims sole possession of first place in the league.

As has been the case so many times this season, White dominated the game, accounting for 256 of the Dauphins' 369 yards. But much credit also needs to go to the Dauphins defense which held the Cougars' passing game to 256 yards, well below their average of 330 yards per game.

White scored the first touchdown of the game on a 59-yard run. Then early in the second period, he ripped off an 83-yard scoring jaunt to tie the game at 14. Then with 1:49 left, the Dauphins were trailing 28-24 and faced fourth down from the Cougar 19-yard line. Nice sent trips left and split out White by himself to the right where he made a great sideline catch in the end zone for the winning score.

The Dauphins were schedule to visit the Pessac Kangourous this coming weekend, but since that franchise folded, they will be off until April 17 when they visit the La Queue-en-Brie Gladiateurs.
