Team News - Coach Zwaan Announces His Retirement

After 21 years at the helm, West Chester head football coach Bill Zwaan announced his retirement at Saturday's Killinger Foundation Banquet. He leaves as the Golden Rams' all time winningest coach and enters Saturday's finale against Clarion with a record of 162 and 76 at the school.

Under Zwaan, West Chester captured the PSAC East championship outright six times (2004, 2007, 2008, 2015, 2017, 2018) and the shared title in 2013. Additionally, in 2018, West Chester captured the overall PSAC championship for the first time since 1971. He led the Golden Rams into the NCAA Division II playoffs ten times, advancing to the national semifinals in both 2004 and 2013. He was named PSAC East Coach of the Year five times (2004, 2007, 2008, 2015, 2018). With a victory on Saturday, Zwaan will secure his 18th winning year in his 20 seasons at West Chester.
