In the first period, West Chester forced two three-and-outs and held Shepherd to just 26 yards of offense. Meanwhile, the Golden Rams racked up 118 yards of offense and freshman Cooper Jordan did some razzle dazzle before finding receiver D'Shaun Seals in the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown. It was 7-0 when the teams changed sides. And the teams changed sides.
In the second quarter, West Chester mustered only one yard and finished the game with 211 yards of offense. Their only other score came after Matt Marshall recovered a muffed Shepherd punt at the 25-yard line. Even then, it took a fourth down conversion and seven plays to navigate those 25 yards which was finished by an Ethan Kohler to Mari Wright seven-yard touchdown pass.

After those two first quarter punts, the Golden Rams could not stop Shepherd as they scored touchdowns on their next seven possessions. The only thing that prevented them from scoring on their final possession is the game mercifully came to a conclusion. Six of their seven touchdown drives were 65 yards or longer as West Chester offered little resistance. And Shepherd did as they wished on offense as they racked up 218 yards on the ground and 297 yards through the air for 514 yards of total offense. The Ram defense made six tackles for loss and three interceptions.

Defensively, cornerback Sterlen Barr led the team in tackles with 14 while linebacker Jackson Taylor made 13, including a sack. Lineman David Blay also had a sack among his four tackles. Sean Henry did all of the kicking for West Chester, booming all three kickoffs for touchbacks, punting four times for an average of 38 yards, and converting both PAT's.
