Alumni News - Joe Wright Becomes Head Coach at St Mark's

Former Golden Ram quarterback Joe Wright has been named the head coach at his high school alma mater St. Mark's in Wilmington, DE. As a player at St. Mark's, he was the Gatorade Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and two-time All-State quarterback for the Spartans. At West Chester, the team captain finished his passing career 402 of 696 for 6,220 yards and 49 touchdowns, ranking in the top ten in the Golden Ram record book in each of those marks. He was named second team All-PSAC East after the 2008 season. He was named PSAC East Offensive Player of the Week after throwing for 385 yards and six touchdowns at Kutztown in 2008.

Since graduating from West Chester University in 2009 with his degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, Wright has been a high school quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, first at Avon Grove in West Grove, PA and most recently at St. Elizabeth’s in Wilmington, DE. He is also the Director of Football Operations at One Hundred Percent Football in Wilmington, DE.
