Player News - Nate Barnes Tweets WCU

Nate Barnes (Carlisle) has indicated on Twitter that he plans to play football at West Chester University. This past season, the 6-2 210lb linebacker registered 76 tackles including 4.0 sacks. On offense, he snared 41 catches for 648 yards and six touchdowns. The Sentinel described Barnes as "the unquestioned heart and soul of the Thundering Herd" and a "relentless player". As a junior, he hauled in 60 catches for 907 yards and nine touchdowns as Carlisle qualified for the PIAA District 3 Class 4A playoffs. Barnes was also part of a Thundering Herd basketball team that advanced to the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals last season. He selected West Chester over Central Connecticut St and PSAC East rivals Bloomsburg and East Stroudsburg, while also garnering interest from several FCS schools.
