Player News - McCartney, Eight Others Named to Regional Team

Senior quarterback Sean McCartney was named Super Region One Offensive Player of the Year by the Don Hansen Football Gazette. Also named to the first team offense were junior tight end Tim Brown and junior Brandon Monk as an all-purpose player. Named to the first team defense were senior linebacker Ronell Williams and senior cornerback Al-Hajj Shabazz.

Named to the second team offense was sophomore left tackle Doug Gilbert. The third team offense listed senior center Derek Schatz and senior left guard James Colivas while the defense identified junior defensive end Andrew Cohen

Super Region One consists of schools in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, Northeast-10, Mountain East Conference, and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. West Chester's five players on the first team were the most from any one school. Those five players now advance to the national ballot. The Don Hansen Football Gazette 2014 NCAA Division II All-America team will be announced later this month.
