Last Meeting:

09/22/2013 West Chester 48 - Millersville 3

Under a constant, steady rain, West Chester was effective on both sides of the ball, winning the total offensive yardage number 624 yards to 121 yards. Rondell White rushed for 227 yards and three touchdowns, Brandon Monk rushed for 175 yards and two touchdowns, and Sean McCartney was 9 of 13 for 168 yards and two touchdowns to lead the offense. Linebacker Mike Labor, who had seven tackles and a forced fumble, was one of 22 players to record a tackle for West Chester.

Scouting the Opponent:
Millersville's offense is controlled by quarterback Matt Misley. Last season, he started at quarterback for Wagner against Syracuse; this season he leads the Marauders in both passing (50-98, 617 yards, 8 TD's, 2 interceptions) and rushing (39 rushes, 150 yards). When he does hand the ball off, he generally gives it to Myron Myles (35 rushes, 156 yards). When Misely gets a pass away (Millersville quarterbacks have been sacked 7 times), he looks to 5'8" freshman Malont'a Patterson (11 catches, 182 yards, 3 TD's) or 5'9" freshman Kevin Wiggins (13 catches, 168 yards, 2 TD's).

Millersville changed their defense to a 3-4 this season and are led by linebackers Reggie Slaton (38 tackles, 1 sack) and freshman Logan Kinser (21 tackles, 2 TFL's, 1 interception). The secondary is led by safeties Rasheed Johnson (29 tackles, 1 pass breakup) and P.J. Santos (23 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries). The three men up front are Josh Garnett (12 tackles, 2.5 TFL's), Neil Moloney (10 tackles, 2.0 TFL's), and Drew Seaburg (11 tackles, 2.5 TFL's). Overall, Millersville is young again this season as 17 players made their first collegiate starts in 2014.

Analysis:
Millersville ranks last in the PSAC in scoring defense, giving up 49 points per game, while West Chester ranks third in the conference in scoring offense, scoring 39 points per contest. While the Marauders are stronger against the pass than against the run, Sean McCartney should be able to find plenty of success. This game should also be a chance for the Golden Ram rushing offense to get themselves right before facing more accomplished teams over the coming weeks. The West Chester defense needs to shut down Misely as he accounts for 71% of the Marauder offense.
