Jarel Elder (Parkland) verbally committed to play football for the Golden Rams. The 5-7, 160lb, running back/defensive back chose West Chester over PSAC rivals Shippensburg and Bloomsburg.
He filled the stat sheet in his senior season for the Trojans, whose season ended in the PIAA AAAA quarter-finals. On offense, Elder rushed for 1,504 yards and 18 touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 240 yards and another two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Elder recorded 96 total tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and four more touchdowns. In claiming the District XI AAAA championship, Elder caught a 55-yard pass for one touchdown, scored a second touchdown on a 51-yard run, and returned an interception 43 yards for a third touchdown. He also rushed for over 1,000 yards in his junior season as Parkland advanced to the PIAA District 2/4/11 subregional final.
